This Gefen ADA-DVI-2-DVIRGBHV passive adapter cable makes it simple to connect both digital and analog cables to a DVI-I source. For example, some computer video cards can be configured to output digital DVI, analog VGA-style R/G/B/H/V, or both.
Another use would be to connect a standard DVI-D and/or RGBHV cable to a projector with a DVI-I input.
Note: When using a computer graphics card, the DVI port must be capable of outputting a digital and an analog signal SIMULTANEOUSLY to get two active displays. Similarly, the projector in the example above would need to support DVI-D and/or RGBHV inputs via DVI-I connector.
The DVI-female and BNC-female connectors are shown here in greater detail.
This photo shows the DVI-male connector. The gold-plated pins can be be easily seen in this picture.
