Jensen Transformers MC-2RR ISO-MAX Moving Coil Step-Up Transformer
The Jensen Transformers MC-2RR ISO-MAX Moving Coil Phono Cartridge Step-Up Transformer provides audiophile-quality level matching and isolation suitable for the finest analog audio playback systems.
Commonly known as an "SUT" (Step Up Transformer), the MC-2RR is a transformer-based, passive, stand-alone step-up device for use between a moving-coil phonograph needle cartridge and a conventional hi-hi phono preamp.
Two versions are available to satisfy a wide range of applications.
MC-2RR-L is the "low ratio" 1:10 step-up model, containing two JT-44K-DX step-up transformers. With this model, the audio signal coming from the m/c cartridge is increased by about 20dB.
The MC-2RR-H is the "high ratio" 1:37 step-up model, containing two JT-34K-DX step-up transformers. This model
increases the audio signal coming from the m/c cartridge by about 31dB.
For most moving coil cartridges, we recommend the "L" version. The "H" version is only recommended for very low
impedance, low output cartridges that also require a resistive load of less than 100 Ohms.
Case dimensions for both models are 140mm L x 77mm W x 50mm H (~5.51" x 3.03" x 1.97") not including the small rubber feet.

Don't Forget the Cables!
Good cables are very important in the fight against hum and noise. You will need at least one pair of short patch cables in order to insert the MC-2RR into your signal path, and you may want to consider upgrading your existing cable(s) as well.
