These high-performance Vampire Wire HDMI cables
are ideal for connecting plasma, LCD, DLP, LCoS,
SXRD and CRT flat panel displays, monitors and
projectors. This high-quality cable ensures
error-free, bit-perfect digital transmissions for
all HDTV resolutions up to 1080p, so you will get
the best video and audio that your system can
deliver.
This series of cables are available in
hard-to-find shorter lengths, making them ideal for
a wide variety of wiring within cabinets, racks, and
behind closely situated equipment. Here are
the available lengths:
- 1 meter (3.3 foot) - #HDMI-1M
- 1.5 meter (4.9 foot) - #HDMI-1.5M
For additional lengths, please consider our
Gefen and
Audio
Authority HDMI cables.
HDMI Benefits
HDMI is similar to DVI in some
respects, but the HDMI interface uses a smaller
connector than DVI, which makes the cables easier to
route through cable management systems, conduits, or
through holes in building materials. The
specification handles high-bandwidth, uncompressed
video, as well as multi-channel digital audio, all
with one cable. HDMI encoding and decoding
hardware is more robust than the hardware that which
is used for DVI, so the signal can stand up to
longer runs, wall plates, adapters, and so on,
better than DVI. All HDMI-enabled equipment is
backward compatible with DVI by using simple passive
adapters or adapter cables.
Review From The Real World
When comparing digital
cables, it can be very difficult to make an
intelligent buying decision. Some cables that look
very good actually work very badly. Some
cables look less impressive, but work flawlessly.
There is some truth to the old idea that you get
what you pay for. For example, if you see a 2
meter HDMI cable for under $20.00, you would have to
expect some compromises in materials, workmanship,
and ultimately, in performance. At the same
time, higher price does not necessarily equate to
higher performance.
For example, consider the 2 meter Monster
M1000DAV HDMI cable, model M1000HDMI-2M - it works
well, but it also sells for $250.00. By
comparison, the 2 meter Vampire Wire #HDIM-2M HDMI
cable lists for $73.60 and it also works very well!
That price point is even more surprising if you
consider the Vampire Wire heritage - they have a
well-respected product line, including some of the
most technically advanced (and expensive) cables in
the industry.
You may have read references to exotic-sounding
materials, like "Nitrogen gas injected dielectric"
and "Silver-plated pure copper". You may also
notice that some manufacturers make use of gold
plating for connector shells. As it turns out,
Vampire Wire cables also use a gas-injected
dielectric material. While it is true that
silver is a slightly better conductor than copper at
DC, the difference becomes insignificant in this
application. Gold is actually somewhat less
conductive than copper, so solid gold conductors are
not desirable, but gold plating does have at least
one desirable characteristic as it relates to cable
engineering - it is highly resistant to oxidation.
That is why Vampire Wire uses gold-plating at all
connector contact points.
Vampire Wire is offering a very high level of
performance and dependability in a low to mid-priced
cable. You get the peace of mind that comes
from knowing that your cables came from a respected
company...you can be confident that they are not
limiting the performance of your system. As
you are enjoying your digitally-perfect picture, you
can also take comfort in the knowledge that you have
avoided spending too much. A wealthy man once
said that there is no status in having paid too
much.
We have sold many thousands of cables, so we have
a lot of experience with how cables work in the real
world. We have found Vampire Wire cables to be
excellent performers In fact, as of this
writing, we have never had a Vampire Wire cable
returned because of a performance problem. We
think that speaks very well for the company, and
is something that cannot be said of every cable that
we have offered over the years. Only a few
companies have such a distinction.
Vampire Wire backs this cable with a Lifetime
Limited Warranty.
