The Intelix DIGI-HD-IR2 HDMI and IR Balun is a professional-grade extender system, capable of transmitting HDMI and IR up to 300 feet over two twisted pair cables such as Cat 5 or Cat 6.
Ideal for residential A/V, commercial A/V, and digital signage applications, the
DIGI-HD-IR2 transmits 1080p video up to 150 feet, 720p and 1080i video up to 300 feet, and 480i and 480p video up to 300 feet.
Intelix's built-in HDshāk® technology provides dynamic HDMI, EDID/DDC and HDCP mode selection, guaranteeing performance and image quality. This trademarked HDshāk® processing allows the DIGI-HD-IR2 delivers the highest level of EDID and DDC negotiation, ensuring proper source and destination HDCP handshaking even over extended distances of twisted pair cabling.
In addition, the DIGI-HD-IR2 features electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection circuitry which safeguards the HDMI circuit against static electricity and other destructive stray voltage. The unit is HDMI 1.3b and HDCP compliant. The set includes a transmitter, receiver, two power supplies, an IR emitter, and an IR receiver.
With its enclosed design, the Intelix DIGI-HD-IR2 may be used stand-alone, or may also be rack-mounted by using an optional rack-mount kit. Connection to HDMI is via standard Type A connectors. HDMI cables are not included, but we do have them available here. Connection to the twisted-pair cables is via RJ45.
As with virtually all systems that are based upon twisted-pair cable technology, the Intelix HDMI Twisted-pair Matrix Distribution System will work with virtually any twisted-pair cables, including Cat-5e and Cat-6, but range and bandwidth is directly related to both distance and cable quality, so to get the highest resolutions at the greatest distances, you will want high-quality, low-skew cables. Like most Intelix products, the DIGI-HD-IR2 comes with a two year limited warranty from the manufacturer.
