The Intelix DIGI-HD-8X8 HDMI Matrix Distribution System offers features that are not found in competing products.
For example, if you take a look at the back panel, you will find eight pairs of twisted-pair output jacks, as you would expect from a twisted-pair distribution system, but what may not be immediately apparent is that the system also has eight active HDMI outputs as well. This makes it simple to add one or more local monitors, in addition to the eight remote monitors. This 8x8 HDMI matrix system also includes IR pathways for each of the eight remote monitors, enabling remote control of the eight sources, as well as the distribution system itself.
The DIGI-HD-8X8 is HDMI version 1.3 capable as well, making it a perfect choice for more advanced systems. Advanced chipsets and firmware promise superior HDCP compatibility and trouble-free operation.
Twisted-pair receivers are sold separately below, so you can get exactly the functionality you need. Use any combination of receivers, up to a total of eight receivers (add to your cart below):

The UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) hardware is capable distances of up to 300 feet, depending upon UTP cable quality and signal bandwidth.
As with virtually all systems that are based upon twisted-pair cable technology, the Intelix HDMI Twisted-pair Matrix Distribution System will work with virtually any twisted-pair cables, including Cat-5e and Cat-6, but range and system bandwidth are directly related to both distance and cable quality, so to get the highest resolutions at the greatest distances, you will want high-quality, low-skew cables. The Intelix DIGI-HD-8X8 features a 3.75" touch screen on the front panel which is ideal for system setup and control. The touch panel software also runs on a computer or Java-enabled device (pocket PC, smart phone, etc.), delivering intuitive programming and control from remote destinations.

DIGI-HD-8X8 Feature Focus
HDMI 1.3 compliant. Forget HDMI handshake issues, loss of audio, and video flickers. The DIGI-HD-8X8 features an HDMI 1.3b chipset, providing the most stable and uniform platform for HDMI sources and destinations. Plus, the matrix supports Deep Color and Lossless Digital Audio.
Built-in twisted pair extenders. The DIGI-HD-8X8 features HDMI and twisted pair extender outputs. If the destinations are close, use the HDMI outputs. If the destinations are far away, use the twisted pair outputs and a compatible Intelix receiver. In addition, the HDMI and twisted pair outputs are paralleled, allowing simultaneous use per channel.
Smart negotiation. The DIGI-HD-8X8's on-board CPU automatically negotiates outputs with various resolutions, allowing multiple sized monitors from different manufacturers to be used simultaneously.
Enhanced control. No matter what the application, the DIGI-HD-8X8 has you covered. The matrix features front panel control, Ethernet control, IR control, and RS232 control. In addition, the matrix ships with a wireless remote control.
Shelf-top or rack-mountable. The DIGI-HD-8X8 includes bottom panel mounting feet for shelf-top applications and 19" rack ears for permanent rack installations.
IR pass-through. Tired of third-party IR switchers and patch panels? When used in conjunction with an Intelix DIGI-HD-IR3-R receiver, the DIGI-HD-8X8 matrix distributes remote IR commands over twisted pair cable, through the matrix, and out to local sources. This means the DIGI-HD-8X8 transmits IR signals from your remote destination back to the rack, switches them inside the matrix, and distributes them to your cable boxes, DVD player, or other local source device.

In this connection example, HDMI audio/video from four sources are transmitted to an Intelix DIGI-HD-8X8 and routed to four monitors. The two local monitors are connected with HDMI cables (not Included), the two remote monitors are connected with unshielded twisted pair cables (not included).
