The Gefen EXT-HDTV-142N, 1x2 HDTV Splitter, is a high quality distribution amplifier that can be used to send the same digital video signal from DVD players, D-VHS, satellite receivers, cable boxes, and other HDMI (or DVI) sources to multiple DVI (or HDMI) displays, such as LCD, DLP, LCoS, plasma and CRT monitors and projectors.
Please notice that, like all DVI-equipped devices, this splitter supports digital video only - it is not possible to transmit HDMI audio over a DVI interface. Important Note: This splitter is ideal for use in mixed DVI / HDMI applications. If you need DVI / HDMI conversion cables, we have a wide selection in stock, and we can also substitute DVI / DVI or DVI / HDMI conversion cables in place of the standard HDMI / HDMI bundled cable.
Cable Solutions backs the EXT-HDTV-142N with a one year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty is separate from any warranty that may be provided by the manufacturer, so you must contact Cable Solutions for all warranty-related issues.
The HDTV Splitter allows set-top boxes, DVD players, D-VHS players and other HD devices with either HDMI/DVI output to be connected to two or more HDTV displays at the same time. It distributes digital high definition video to both displays.
The HDTV Splitter is a distribution hub that sends the same video output to two or more HD displays. It is a flexible solution that can be stacked to accommodate multiple displays. When two or more HDTV Splitters are connected together, they can be used to create a larger distribution.
The HDTV Splitter is connected using a HDMI cable from the HDMI source to the HDMI Splitter input. There are either two DVI outputs. Output 1 is the primary connection and is used for the main display. Output 2 follows the main display. The HDTV Splitter is HDCP compliant.
Note: The HDTV Splitter will ONLY support video signals
Any connected display that cannot show the same video resolution(s) as the Primary Display connected to Output #1 may fail to show a picture. Secondary displays follow the Primary by sharing the resolution and capability information (EDID) obtained from the Primary Display.
Here is the back panel. From left to right, the DVI input connector, DVI output 1, output 2, and on the front (left) the HDMI input, the power connector can be seen.
