The Gefen 3x1 HDMI Switcher Black, model EXT-HDMI-341-BLK, provides high-quality electronic switching, so that three HDMI sources
can be connected to a single HDMI input. For example, you can easily switch your HDTV
display between three HDMI sources. It is the perfect solution for connecting
DVD players, satellite receivers, HDTV set top boxes, or any HDMI-enabled source
equipment to a single input.
The "Black" designation refers to the blue/black colors of the case,
offering an alternative to Gefen's typical blue/silver color scheme.

Being a pure HDMI design, the Gefen
EXT-HDMI-341-BLK
HDMI switcher handles both HDMI video and HDMI audio.
It comes with an IR remote control, and it has discrete codes so that it can
easily be controlled by universal remote controls/macros. If you would

Important Note:
This switcher is also ideal for use with the newest DVI-enabled equipment.
By default, the package includes HDMI/HDMI cables, but but you may also
select DVI/HDMI conversion cables at no additional cost - just specify your choice when you check out.
The advanced design of this switch ensures HDCP compatibility
that is simply not possible with other designs.

Gefen's 3x1 HDMI™ Switcher routes high definition video in
multiple resolutions up to 1080p plus multi-channel digital
audio from any of four sources. Three inputs accommodate the
simultaneous connection of up to three high definition video
sources, such as satellite systems and HD DVD players. The
output sends the high definition audio/video signals to a high
definition display. Switching is done via the IR remote that is
provided with the unit.
Fully HDCP Compliant
HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) is a standard
encoded into the video signal to prevent it from being pirated.
If a source device is HDCP coded and is connected to a display
or projector without the proper decoding mechanism, the picture
is relegated to "snow" or in some cases, very low (480P)
resolutions of the images. In order to see high resolution
digital video with HDCP compliance, both the source, the display
and anything in between must be equipped with HDMI™I connections
that can enable HDCP decoding, such as the 3x1 HDMI Switcher.
How it works
You simply connect all your sources to the Switcher's inputs.
Then connect the display on the output port. Once the sources,
the Switcher and the display(s) are powered and connected, you
simply select which source you want to view using the IR remote.
Note: This HDMI product supports BOTH Audio and Video
signals.

Here is an overall view of the switcher and
the front panel. On the left side of the panel there is an LED power
indicator. On the right side you can see the IR window, and LED status
lights that indicate which of the three inputs in currently selected.
Here is a good look at the back panel of the device. From left to right,
there is a connector for an external IR extender, followed by HDMI input connectors
1 through 3, the HDMI output connector, and the power connector.
