Description
The Gefen EXT-VGA-2-DVISP can handle multiple input and colorspaces,
including computer-VGA-style R/G/B/H/V, as well as Y/Pb/Pr and Y/Cb/Cr
component video, as found on HDTV equipment.
The output is also very
versatile. It can be configured to output DVI-D digital video, or
DVI-I analog video. In the case of analog output, the colorspace may
be either R/G/B/H/V or Y/Pb/Pr.
This versatility means that the Gefen VGA to DVI Scaler Plus can solve any
number of compatibility problems. For example, if you want to connect
an video game console to an Apple Cinema Display, the DVI to VGA Scaler makes it very
simple to do so.
An example of a home theater application would be if you have a digital
switcher, and you want to be able to route an analog signal through it -
the EXT-VGA-2-DVISP makes that a very simple matter. The same would be
true with digital splitters, extenders, or in any situation where you need
to use an analog source component in an otherwise digital system.

Converts analog VGA video to digital DVI video with Aspect
Control
The
VGA to DVI Scaler PLUS connects traditional analog video
graphic cards (VGA) to DVI compliant digital monitors. The
VGA to DVI Scaler PLUS, enables users to connect laptops or
legacy PC computers equipped with HD-15 video connections,
to the new DVI (digital visual interface) video display
format. The VGA to DVI Scaler PLUS will also work with
component video sources such as DVD players and set top
boxes.
How it works
Simply
connect the supplied VGA (M-F) cable to the input side of
the VGA to DVI Scaler PLUS. Then connect the DVI monitor or
projector to the DVI output of the VGA to DVI Scaler Box.
The converter generates the compatible analog to digital
conversion signals to make the connection between the analog
input and the digital output work. Navigation through the
menu is easily done via IR remote control, or buttons in the
front of the unit.
