The Gefen EXT-HDMI1.3-441 4x1 Switcher for HDMI 1.3 delivers the
performance that many of us have been waiting for. As the name
implies, this HDMI switch is among the first to offer HDMI v1.3
compatibility. The HDMI 1.3 standard provides for more than twice the
bandwidth offered by the 1.1 standard. That means that 340 MHz
(10.2 Gbps) of data can be channeled over the same physical cable
interface as HDMI 1.1, opening the door for technologies such as
resolutions beyond 1080p, "Deep Color", "x.v. Color", automatic
audio sync (lip sync), as well as lossless compressed digital audio
formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.
The EXT- HDMI1.3-441 comes with an IR remote control, and it has discrete codes so that it can
easily be controlled by universal remote controls/macros. If you would

Fortunately, the HDMI 1.3 spec is also fully compatible with previous
digital video formats, such as HDMI 1.1 and DVI. The switcher works equally well with HDMI or DVI video, so any mix of HDMI and DVI equipment is possible. The package includes HDMI/HDMI cables, but we can substitute HDMI/DVI conversion cables at no additional cost - just specify your choice when you check out. If you do not specify, we will ship

Gefen's 4x1 HDMI™ Switcher routes high definition video in
multiple resolutions up to 1080p plus multichannel digital
audio from any of four sources. four inputs accommodate the
simultaneous connection of up to four high definition video
sources, such as satellite systems and HD DVD players. The
output sends the high definition audio/video signals to a
high definition display. Switching is done via the IR remote
that is provided with the unit.
Fully HDCP Compliant
HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) is a
standard encoded into the video signal to prevent it from
being pirated. If a source device is HDCP coded and is
connected to a display or projector without the proper
decoding mechanism, the picture is relegated to "snow" or in
some cases, very low (480P) resolutions of the images. In
order to see high resolution digital video with HDCP
compliance, both the source, the display and anything in
between must be equipped with HDMI™ connections that can
enable HDCP decoding, such as the 4x1 HDMI Switcher.
How it works
You
simply connect all your sources to the Switcher's inputs.
Then connect the display on the output port. Once the
sources, the Switcher and the display(s) are powered and
connected, you simply select which source you want to view
using the IR remote.
Note: This HDMI product supports BOTH Audio
and Video signals.
