This Gefen 2x1 DVI KVM Switcher makes it simple to use a single DVI monitor, USB keyboard, USB mouse, and audio system for two computers. The high-bandwidth switching maintains digitally perfect video with no loss of image quality. Just press the button on the front panel to switch between the computers.
Status lights indicate which computer is selected.
Our close-up pictures make the switcher look somewhat larger than it really is - it is actually rather small - 7"W x 2.625"H x 4.125"D.
We offer a wired remote control if you would like to be able to locate the switcher out of sight.
Tech note: This is a high-bandwidth DVI single-link switcher. It is suitable for resolutions up to 1920 x 1200, but it does not support monitors that require DVI dual-link connections, such as the Apple 30 inch Cinema Display. If you need DVI dual-link, please consider our dual-link KVM

Now you can switch easily and reliably between any combination of
two DVI and USB 2.0 equipped computers (PC or Mac) - using only one
keyboard, monitor and mouse. The 2x1 DVI KVM Switcher saves space -
there's no need to work on a desk crowded with double monitors,
keyboards and mouse devices. It saves time - there's no need to move
from one monitor to another to access different computers. And, it
saves money - there's no need to purchase additional monitors, mouse
devices, keyboards etc. The Switcher allows you to choose between a
Macintosh or PC keyboard/video/mouse combination.
This product does not support the Apple 30 inch Cinema Display. The
DVI DL Switcher does support the Apple 30" Cinema Display.
How it works
The
2x1 DVI KVM Switcher switches DVI, USB 2.0 and audio between two
computers located near each other. Simply plug your display and
peripherals directly into the back of the Switcher. Connect the
cables to the computers you want to control. Finally, push the
select button in the front panel to switch to the computer you want
to control.

The 2x1 DVI KVM Switcher is HDCP Pass-Through.

Here is an overall view of the switcher and the front panel. From left to right, you can see the audio output, two status LEDs to show which input is selected, the USB outputs, the DVI output, a jack for the Gefen wired remote control, the input selector switch, and a power status LED.

Here is a good look at the back panel of the device. From left to right you can see the power input, DVI inputs 1 and 2, USB inputs 1 and 2, and audio inputs 1 and 2.
As you can see, the package includes (clockwise from upper left) (2) 2 meter DVI cables, (2) 2 meter USB cables, (2) 2 meter stereo audio cables, the switcher device itself, a power supply, and a user manual.
Notice that Gefen has recently updated the switcher to include EQ
controls, but the picture above does not yet reflect that change. In
addition, the unit now ships with a universal power supply rather than the
plug-mounted supply shown in this picture. |
