Description
This Gefen 2x1 DVI DL KVM Switcher makes it simple to use a single DVI monitor, USB keyboard, USB mouse, and audio system for two computers. The high-bandwidth
dual-link switching maintains digitally perfect video with no loss of image quality. Just press the button on the front panel to switch between the computers.
Status lights indicate which computer is selected.
Our close-up pictures make the switcher look somewhat larger than it really is - it is actually rather small - 8.5"W x 1.75"H x 4.625"D.
Weight is 4.7 lbs net, 6 pounds shipping.
The package includes (2) 2 meter (6.6 foot) dual link DVI cables, (2) 2 meter USB cables, (2) 2 meter stereo audio cables, the switcher device itself, an IR remote control, a power supply, and a user manual.
We offer a
wired remote control if you would like to be able to locate the switcher out of sight.
Tech note: This is a high-bandwidth DVI dual-link switcher. It is suitable for resolutions up to 3800 x 2400 x 60 Hz., so it supports monitors that require DVI dual-link connections, such as the Apple 30 inch Cinema Display. If you do not need dual-link, you may want to consider our

The ex•tend•it 2x1 DL DVI Switcher allows you to easily switch between two cross-platform dual link DVI computers using just one dual link DVI display and USB 2.0 keyboard and mouse. Dual link DVI describes the use of all 24 pins of the DVI connector
to achieve mega high video resolutions up to 3840x2400. USB 2.0, also known as hi-speed USB, is the next generation of USB capable of sending data significantly quicker than before. Stereo audio is routed through along with the video to the display. Audio, video and control signals are "switched" for each
computer upon selection, providing you with an easy and effective method of accessing two computers from one workstation without the hassle of networking.
How it works
You simply connect your dual link DVI display and USB 2.0 keyboard/mouse to the Switcher's outputs. Then you connect both computers' dual link DVI, USB and audio ports to the Switcher's inputs using the supplied cables. From there, you select the computer you want using the IR remote that comes with the unit or
with any contact closure remote control. It allows you to choose between a Macintosh or PC keyboard/video/mouse combination.

Here is a closer look at the front panel. From left to right, you can see a power status LED, an IR sensor, two status LEDs to show which input is selected, a manual input selector switch, and equalization controls to compensate for longer cable runs.
Here is a good look at the back panel of the device. From left to right you can see the power input connector, input 1, which includes a stereo audio input at the top and a DVI connector at the bottom, the audio and DVI outputs, input 2 audio and DVI, two USB outputs, and and USB inputs 1 and 2.
