This Audio Authority AVP-11D Decora® UniDrive system uses an active design, so it can transmit high-definition
component video, as well as both analog and digital audio, up to 1000 feet,
using inexpensive CAT5-type cables - a range that passive balun systems simply
cannot achieve! If you need Cat 5-type cables, we
have them available here.
The UniDrive system delivers pristine HDTV video at all resolutions up to 1080p,
as well as full bandwidth analog stereo audio and multi-channel digital audio.
The AVP-11D even includes a return pathway for IR control. The transmitter
unit is small enough that it can be mounted just about
anywhere, while the receiver unit fits a standard single-gang box. If
you would prefer to have an enclosed receiver unit (similar to the transmitter),
please check out this system.

UniDrive
Point to Point HDTV Cat 5 System
- Component video, digital audio, and analog audio

The UniDrive delivers HDTV signals from a single
source to one remote location up to 1,000 feet away. Unlike passive
balun systems, the UniDrive employs Active Gain Equalization (AGE),
dramatically extending range and signal integrity. In addition to HDTV
audio and video signals, the UniDrive has a 3-conductor pathway for
infrared control signals. This pathway can be used for signals traveling
in either direction.
The system includes one Model 9880T Cat 5 Transmitter, and one Model 9879 Decora
Cat 5 Receiver. The cable length
compensation adjustment on the receiver allows the installer to fine
tune image quality over long Cat 5 runs. Only the transmitter requires a
power supply; the receiver is powered over the Cat 5 bus.

Here is a closer look at the 9879 receiver unit. Looking at the RCA connections,
starting at the top, in the left column are connectors for Y, Pb, Pr component
video, with the IR jack at the bottom. The right column jacks are coaxial
digital audio, analog left, and analog right.
