The Audio Authority Model 9870D is an expandable Cat 5 HD distribution system. The basic system
can distribute a single HD component video signal, complete with coaxial digital audio and stereo audio,
while also including a return path or IR control signals. The system can easily be expanded to serve
up to 10 locations by adding additional Model 9871 driver units.
The two included receiver units are the model 9879 Decora-style wallplate versions, although both
9878 and 9880 receivers may
also be used with this system. If you prefer the 9878 stainless steel wallplates, you might want to
start with the 9870 system.
Like most Audio Authority products, the Model 9870D comes with a one year limited warranty from the manufacturer.

Model 9870D
Distribute HDTV signals to multiple rooms with our DuoDrive Cat 5 HD signal distribution system.
Each DuoDrive (Model 9870D) serves two remote locations. Expandable to serve up to 10 locations.
System includes Cat 5 receivers: two Model 9879 Decora-style wallplates (trim rings not included)
The DuoDrive incorporates the key signal paths necessary for premium audio and video entertainment,
plus an IR pathway for easy remote control of AV components. All this over just two inexpensive,
easy to install Cat 5 cables. The Model 9871 Cat 5 Driver distributes HDTV signals up to 1,000 feet
from the source.

The Wallplate
The 9879 Wallplate/Receiver is easy to install in a standard single-gang electrical box. Two
Cat 5 cables deliver component video, digital audio and analog audio to each wallplate. The 3.5mm
IR jacks (use front or rear facing jack) provide a convenient pathway for a third party IR remote
distribution network. The passive, three-wire pathway on the Cat 5 bus can pass IR signals either
way. IR receiver and emitter equipment not included. See 9870 for a kit that
includes the low mounting depth 9878 wallplates.
Reliable and Expandable
Our unique cable length compensation allows adjustment for the optimal signal strength at any
distance up to 1,000 feet from the source. Like our commercial video distribution products, the
DuoDrive provides reliable ground isolation, preventing hum bars and other artifacts associated
with ground loops. It's easy to expand a DuoDrive system. Simply stack additional 9871 Drivers using
our Kit 46 stacking kit, or connect using high quality RCA cables. Up to ten wallplate/receivers
may be served in this way. The RCA bus output may be used to feed HDTV signals to a local video
display and/or sound system. See the

While the DuoDrive is ideal for new construction or an existing home, it does require special
knowledge and tools to install. We suggest you contact a local custom home installation specialist.
