The Audio Authority Model 9870 is an expandable Cat 5 HDTV distribution
system. The basic system can distribute a single HD component video
signal, complete with coaxial digital audio and stereo audio, while also
including a return path or IR control signals. The system can easily be
expanded to serve up to 10 locations by adding additional Model 9871 driver
units.
The two included receiver units are the model 9878 shallow-depth stainless
steel wallplate versions, although both 9879 and
9880 receivers may also be used with this system.
If you prefer the 9879 Decora-style wallplates, you might want to start with the
9870D system.
Like most Audio Authority products, the Model 9870D comes with a one year
limited warranty from the manufacturer.

The 9870 Series delivers pristine high definition video signal with astounding clarity and color fidelity up to 1,000 feet from the source. Like our commercial video distribution products, the 9870 Series provides reliable ground isolation, preventing hum bars and other artifacts associated with ground loops.
It’s easy to expand a 9870 System to any size. Simply stack additional 9871 Drivers using our Kit 46 stacking kit, or connect using RCA cables. An unlimited number of Wallplates may be served in this way.
The Driver
Each Driver can feed two 9878 Wallplates, and expanding capacity is as easy as adding more Drivers and Wallplates. Inputs include Y/Pb/Pr Component Video, left/right analog audio, and coaxial digital audio. It has pass-though outputs for each of these inputs, as well as CAT5 outputs for two wall
plates.
The Wallplate
The Wallplate is easy to install in a standard dual-gang electrical box. Each durable, stainless steel Wallplate offers component video, digital audio and analog audio jacks, plus an antenna pass-through jack (RF cable for antenna jack functionality must be added separately). The IR jack provides a convenient
pathway for a third party IR remote distribution network over the Cat 5 pathway. IR receiver and emitter equipment not included.
