The Audio Authority 1361 Component Video or PC Down-converter provides an elegant solution for using
standard definition televisions in HDTV distribution systems, or with computers. It solves problems with mismatched
formats and resolutions. It can handle any HDTV format up to 1080i, and it is also appropriate for
computer resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 @ 60Hz.
Supported HDTV input resolutions include 480i/p, 576i/p, 720p, and 1080i. PC input resolutions include VGA,
SVGA, XGA, SXGA, and UXGA. If you need to down-convert 1080p, you might want to consider the Model 1360. The Model 1361 features simultaneous output via composite video,
S-Video, and component video.
The Model 1361 comes with an IR remote control, making it simple manage scaling, pan, position, zoom and aspect
ratio. Dimensions are 2" H x 8" W x 6" D.
Like most Audio Authority products, the model 1361

Mixed Signal Distribution Systems
Many satellite receivers and cable boxes do not offer simultaneous output on YPbPr and
composite outputs. To distribute the same signal to TVs with HD component inputs as well as TVs
with composite or S-Video inputs, a quality down-converter is needed to make both resolutions of
the same content available to the distribution system.

Model 1361 Component Down Converter generates a standard analog NTSC or PAL video signal from
an HD component or PC video signal. Output is either composite and S-Video or standard definition
component (YCbCr) format, with HD Pass-thru. Any HD signal up to 1080i can be converted to
standard analog video. It can also handle computer resolutions up to UXGA (1600 x 1200 at 60Hz)
vertical refresh rate.
The Model 1361 settings are controlled via front panel push-button, an IR remote or an RS-232
interface. The over-scan feature allows you to fill the entire video screen. The aspect ratio can
be switched between wide screen and standard display.

Here is the back panel of the device. As you can see, the center area has inputs for both
component video and VGA, as well as pass-through outputs for each of those inputs. SD component
video, composite and S-Video outputs are on the left side of the panel. The "RS-232" connection is
for third-party remote control applications. The power switch, HD/PC selector switch and power
connection are on the right side of the panel.
