The Audio Authority Model 1172BK Audio Interface for AVAtrix provides an interface between AVAtrix systems and
whole-house audio systems from other manufacturers. When used in Source Mode, the audio outputs mirror the AVAtrix
source inputs, while Tracking Mode mirrors the audio source selected by each corresponding remote wallplate.
In addition, the 1172BK routes IR signals to the appropriate source or zone amplifier.
The 1172BK is designed to stack in an elegant manner with other AVAtrix System components. This "BK" model
has a black finish.
Like most Audio Authority products, the Model 1172BK comes with a one year limited warranty from the manufacturer.

Model 1172BK
[With the addition of the Model 1172BK,] The AVAtrix plays well with whole-house audio systems! The flexible
1172BK Audio Interface allows an independent audio distribution system to be connected to the AVAtrix.
The 1172BK provides an audio breakout point for the AVAtrix to connect an independent audio distribution
system of any brand that accepts stereo analog audio or digital audio.
- Six audio inputs (from internal AVAtrix bus cable)
- Six audio outputs analog stereo and coaxial digital)
- Infrared remote jack for IR pathway
- 1U Rack ears included (Model 1191)
The 1172BK can be used in two different ways: Source Mode, with an advanced audio system having its own
integrated switching, and Tracking Mode, with an audio system that employs dedicated amplifiers for each room

- In Source Mode, each 1172BK output always provides the audio signal from its corresponding source
input on the AVAtrix (e.g. source 1 audio is always available on 1172BK output 1).
- In Tracking Mode, each 1172BK output switches its content along with the AVAtrix so that the audio
distribution system’s output automatically matches what is playing on the video display in each room.
- Both modes allow for infrared communication from the AVAtrix Wallplates in each room back to a whole
house audio system.
